About this role
**Responsibilities** - Design, build, and maintain automation solutions to provision, configure, and manage enterprise IT environments using **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** and **Configuration as Code (CaC)**. - Develop, test, and deploy IaC/CaC pipelines to automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of enterprise servers and services. - Engineer and administer enterprise automation platforms (e.g., **Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform**, **AWX**), including execution environment management and system health monitoring. - Write, maintain, and optimize complex **Ansible** playbooks, roles, and custom automation scripts (primarily **YAML, Python, PowerShell, or Bash**) for system configuration, patching, and operational tasks. - Automate enforcement and continuous monitoring of **DoD STIGs** and security baselines across **RHEL** and **Windows** using Configuration as Code. - Build custom **API integrations/modules** to connect automation platforms with hypervisors, cloud providers, **IPAM**, and **ITSM** systems for zero-touch provisioning. - Collaborate with systems engineers, network architects, and cybersecurity teams to translate SOPs into efficient automated playbooks and **GitOps** workflows. - Troubleshoot complex issues involving automation pipeline failures, Ansible execution errors, configuration drift, and API connectivity bottlenecks. - Maintain documentation for custom code, automation architecture, IaC repositories (e.g., **Git/GitLab**), and playbook logic. - Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and training to enterprise operations personnel. **Required Qualifications** - **DoW TS/SCI clearance required** - **DoD 8570 IAT II** - Must be **DoW 8140 compliant** under **Work Role Code 451 – System Administrator (Intermediate level or higher)** - Education/experience minimums: - **12 years** with HS Diploma - **10 years** with AS/AA degree - **8 years** with BS/BA degree - **6 years** with MS/MA - **3 years** with PhD **Desired Qualifications** - Experience operating within **DoW/DoD enterprise** network environments - Active **Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)** or **Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation** - Proven experience with **GitOps** and managing IaC repositories using **Git** (e.g., GitLab/GitHub/Bitbucket) plus CI/CD execution - Experience automating **DoD STIG enforcement** and security compliance baselines on **RHEL and Windows** using Ansible roles, **OpenSCAP**, or compliance-as-code frameworks **Additional Info** - **Location:** MacDill AFB - **Target Salary Range:** **$104,000 – $166,000** (final compensation depends on experience, education, location, and contract/business factors) - Peraton is an equal opportunity employer.
