**Senior Software Engineer - C#, SQL, Azure** *Hybrid in Kansas City, MO* **About the Role** We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer to help modernize our software architecture. You'll design, develop, and maintain software components supporting H&R Block business applications. Serve as the lead for day-to-day functional tasks, developer support, and development environment maintenance. **Key Responsibilities** • Design and develop new product features using coding standards and best practices • Create and execute unit tests; address defects • Collaborate with QA, UX, and related teams on requirements and approach • Assist in strategic product direction planning and implementation • Identify design features for scalability, usability, and performance • Drive technical design and code reviews for enhancements and maintenance • Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications • Mentor team members on technological advances and best practices **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in related field (or equivalent education + work experience) • 5+ years building web-based applications with Microsoft technology stack • 3+ years developing with Microsoft Azure cloud • 3+ years developing web interfaces using HTML and JavaScript • 3+ years developing MS SQL-based applications and C# • Angular application development experience • TFE environment building knowledge • Scrum methodology experience • Azure DevOps or GitHub experience (source control, boards, CI/CD) • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently **Why H&R Block** Join a High Performing, Connected Culture built on strong relationships and continuous learning.
