## Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2027) **Company:** Saronic Technologies **Location:** Austin, TX (HQ) — **full-time in office** (40 hours/week) | **May–August 2027** ### About the Role Saronic Technologies is building autonomous surface vessels. As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll work on real-world problems that directly support the development of our autonomous systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience in software development, testing, and integration while working with experienced engineers on autonomy, sensor fusion, and real-time processing. ### Responsibilities - Design, implement, and test software components for autonomous systems (navigation algorithms, sensor integration, communication protocols) - Collaborate to develop and optimize algorithms for real-time decision-making, path planning, and object detection - Assist in building testing frameworks and participate in **hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)** testing to validate performance in simulated and real-world environments - Contribute to technical documentation (design specs, user manuals, test plans) - Work with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, and systems) to ensure seamless software/hardware integration ### Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a **Bachelor’s or Master’s** program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a related field - Programming skills in **Python, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Rust** - Basic understanding of robotics, autonomous systems, and sensor technologies - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment ### Physical Demands (Summary) - Prolonged sitting/desk work; occasional standing/walking within the office - Manual dexterity to operate office equipment - Occasional reaching/bending/stooping - Ability to lift/carry up to **20 lbs** occasionally ### Notes / Compliance - If based in the United States, the role requires access to export-controlled information or items requiring **“U.S. Person”** status. - Saronic is an equal opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities. **CCPA Notice (Candidates & California Employees):** https://saronic-assets-public.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Saronic%20CCPA%20Notice%20for%20Candidates%20and%20California%20Employees.pdf
