**Systems Integration Engineer - SME (TELECOM-East)** **About the Role** Join Peraton in advancing the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. Serve as a technical mentor and hands-on engineer guiding the West Service Area field team while leading critical infrastructure modernization. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead design, integration, and testing of systems supporting the NAS • Direct migration of legacy copper (TDM) systems to modern fiber and IP networks • Manage full lifecycle of network infrastructure projects from planning through deployment • Assess requirements and communicate technical updates to engineering teams • Solve complex technical bottlenecks during multi-state deployments • Monitor performance using dashboards and KPIs to ensure mission-critical reliability • Provide clear status updates and briefings to stakeholders **Required Qualifications** • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or 4+ years relevant experience) • 12+ years hands-on telecommunications network engineering experience • Deep technical expertise: BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, IPv6, TDM-to-IP conversion • Hands-on optical networking (fiber), telecom infrastructure, and server-level deployments • Experience with ground networks and air-to-ground systems **Preferred Qualifications** • Leadership experience on multi-million-dollar infrastructure initiatives • Cloud networking knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or CCIE certification • AWS Solutions Architect - Associate, ASEP, or PMP certification • Familiarity with FAA BNATCS protocols **Location & Travel** 100% local travel to FAA facilities required. Must reside in/near Miami, FL with regular travel to multiple FAA sites.
