**Staff Software Engineer, Workflow Platform** **About the Role:** Design, implement, optimize, and operate Pinterest's data control plane including the Workflow platform and Data context platform. Lead complex technical projects, strengthen reliability and performance, and shape the long-term technical direction for scalable, reliable data infrastructure. **Key Responsibilities:** • Design and operate Pinterest's Workflow platform, Data catalogue/governance, and Jupyter notebook infrastructure • Collaborate across teams to design technologies that unlock innovations • Lead complex technical projects from architecture through execution • Drive team initiatives to strengthen reliability and performance • Shape technical direction for AI-native, scalable data control planes • Engage with open source communities (Apache Airflow, Datahub, Jupyter) **What We're Looking For:** • 10+ years designing and building large-scale production distributed systems • Strong experience with infrastructure platform design and maintenance • Proficiency in Python or Java • Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence architecture • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience **Compensation & Work:** • Salary: $177,185 – $364,795 USD (US-based applicants) • Eligible for equity • In-office 1-2 times/quarter (remote-friendly, anywhere in US) • No relocation assistance **Equal Opportunity Employer:** Pinterest considers all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
