**Sr-level SQL Database / Systems Administrator** **Location:** On-site, Washington DC **About the Role:** Peraton is seeking an experienced Sr-level SQL Database / Systems Administrator for Federal Strategic Cyber programs. This hybrid role combines core DBA responsibilities with system administration tasks, requiring expertise in both database and systems management. **Key Responsibilities:** • Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2016+) • Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexes and statistics • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and high availability strategies • Perform system administration tasks including patching, scripting, and server configuration • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on application deployments • Ensure database and system security through access controls and auditing • Troubleshoot and resolve database and server issues • Document procedures, configurations, and best practices **Required Qualifications:** • Minimum 8 years experience with Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or 12+ years experience without degree) • SQL Server database and systems administration experience • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design • Solid understanding of Windows Server administration • Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages • Familiarity with backup tools, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery planning • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Excellent communication and documentation abilities • U.S. citizenship required • Current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and polygraph capability **Preferred Qualifications:** • Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS • Experience with Apache NiFi for ETL workflows • Familiarity with Linux environments • Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines **Salary Range:** $86,000 - $138,000 **Equal Opportunity Employer** including disability and protected veterans
