We super-serve 100M+ anime and manga fans across 200+ countries and territories, powering experiences across streaming video, events, games, merchandise, and more. **About the role** As a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team, you’ll help manage and scale the systems and services that power our streaming platform—especially edge services and networking technologies. You’ll work with Infrastructure Engineering and delivery teams to lead projects to completion, ensure platform processes and best practices are followed, and collaborate closely with other engineers to keep our traffic management and cloud networking architecture secure, fast, and reliable. You’re expected to: - Drive initiatives to improve how we work - Introduce new technologies and processes when needed - Share knowledge across teams You’ll report to the **Senior Manager, Infrastructure Engineering**. **About You** You have deep expertise in cloud networking, software, and DevOps methodologies, including automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You’ve designed, built, and scaled high-availability systems and you thrive in a collaborative environment. **Requirements** - Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology/systems, or similar - 8+ years in production environments, including 5+ years engineering edge infrastructure and networks as a DevOps/SRE - Proficiency in **AWS** and IaC tools such as **Pulumi** and **Terraform** - Experience managing global traffic via **Cloudflare** (or similar), including DNS, CDN, and intelligent load balancing - Ability to secure cloud-native environments using Cloudflare tools (WAF, DDoS mitigation, Zero Trust access policies) - Ability to analyze Cloudflare traffic patterns/metrics to troubleshoot global delivery failures, caching conflicts, and origin-to-edge bottlenecks - Experience architecting and automating secure, scalable cloud networks (VPCs, subnets, routing) - Experience implementing robust load balancing, DNS strategies, and granular access controls - Ability to investigate and resolve complex cloud connectivity issues using logs and metrics (latency, routing anomalies, packet loss) - Experience with **GitOps** and **CI/CD** - Experience managing **Linux**-based infrastructure - Experience with CDN/caching technologies including **AWS CloudFront** - Experience guiding software engineers on production best practices and sharing knowledge - Experience with 2+ programming languages - Ability to accommodate periodic off-hour meetings with international team members - Excellent communication skills and stakeholder collaboration - Participate in on-call and developer support rotations **Pluses** - Knowledge of streaming video delivery, video encoding workflows, video origin architecture, and scale - Proficiency in **TypeScript** - Familiarity with big data and payments domain - Understanding of security concepts (cryptography, authentication, authorization, security protocols) - Familiarity with **Datadog** - Familiarity with **GitHub Actions** **About the Team** Core Infrastructure Engineering forms the foundation for our services and directly impacts customer experience and engineering velocity.
