## Senior AI Product Engineer **About Drata** Drata is building the trust layer between great companies—automating compliance, managing risk, and helping organizations prove trust continuously as they scale. You’ll be part of a global team that values integrity, ownership, and raising the bar. **Why this role** This is a **customer-facing AI product** role (not platform/infrastructure). You’ll translate LLMs, agents, and RAG pipelines into polished, intuitive experiences—such as streaming chat interfaces, agentic workflows, intelligent summaries, and guided automation that makes compliance feel effortless. --- ## What you’ll do - Build **AI-powered product features end-to-end** - Develop **React/TypeScript UI** with a **Node.js/Python backend**, including real-time streaming, graceful degradation, and human-in-the-loop patterns - Translate AI capabilities (RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, structured reasoning) into interactions that feel natural to compliance practitioners - Partner with AI Engineers on **API contracts and output schemas** - Advocate for the **user perspective**, identify where model outputs break down in practice, and iterate the product layer - Create **user-facing feedback loops** to capture signal on AI output quality and make it actionable for the broader AI team - Add **product-level observability** (latency, engagement, task completion, drop-off) plus integration and end-to-end tests across the full stack - Establish reusable patterns (streaming hooks, feedback components, AI state management) to accelerate future AI feature development - Mentor engineers and participate in design reviews with both engineering depth and product instinct --- ## What you’ll bring - **5+ years** of software engineering experience shipping full-stack features in production - **2+ years** building AI-powered product features - Strong **React + TypeScript** skills; experience with async, streaming, and real-time UI - Solid **Python and Node.js/TypeScript**; experience designing/consuming APIs integrating with LLM providers or AI services - **AI fluency**: hands-on LLM API experience (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), prompt engineering, context management, RAG, evals/quality (e.g., Braintrust), and structured outputs - Familiarity with **agent frameworks** (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain, custom runtimes) and building product surfaces on multi-step workflows - Experience implementing **streaming** (SSE/WebSockets/chunked HTTP) and handling partial/uncertain outputs - Strong **product sense** and cross-functional collaboration with AI/ML, product, and design ### Bonus qualifications - Experience in **compliance, security, GRC**, or other document-heavy enterprise domains - Exposure to **MCP (Model Context Protocol)** or similar tool-use interfaces - Experience debugging/understanding **RAG system design** from the product layer - Experience building **feedback/annotation tooling** to capture user signal on AI output quality --- ## Compensation & benefits (highlights) - **Expected base salary range:** **$150,000 – $230,000** (varies by market and experience) - Equity as part of total compensation - Up to **100% employer-paid** medical/dental/vision premiums - 401(k), life/disability insurance, and tax-advantaged spending accounts - Paid parental leave (after six months), plus fertility/family-building benefits - Annual professional/personal development stipends - Flexible vacation policy and paid holidays --- **Apply / Learn more** - Lif
