## Overview LMI is seeking an experienced **Database Administrator** to support **Army Acquisition, Training, and Readiness (AT&R)** in the sustainment and enhancement of the **Army Contract Writing System (ACWS)**. ACWS is built on the **Appian Platform**. You will manage and maintain enterprise database environments supporting ACWS, with responsibility for **database health, performance, security, availability, and operational reliability**. ## Responsibilities - Partner with **Appian developers, system architects, DevSecOps engineers, information assurance personnel, and functional teams** to ensure database services support current operations, releases, and future enhancements. - Monitor and maintain database health across **production, test, development, and other supported ACWS environments**. - Perform proactive maintenance including **performance tuning, query optimization, capacity planning, and health monitoring**. - Design and implement **database schemas, data models, indexes, and migration strategies**. - Support **database security, hardening, patching, access controls**, and compliance with applicable **STIG** and **DoD** requirements. - Manage **backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster preparedness** procedures. - Troubleshoot **database errors, performance issues, connectivity problems, locking/resource contention, and data discrepancies**. - Support Appian teams with **database design, SQL development, query optimization, data troubleshooting, and release activities**. - Coordinate with DevSecOps/infrastructure teams on **database deployment automation, configuration management, monitoring, and patching**. - Support **data migrations, upgrades, schema changes, and integration** while minimizing operational impact. - Maintain **documentation, runbooks, configuration records, and operational procedures**. - Participate in **incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and corrective actions** for database-related issues. - Participate in **Agile planning and release activities**, communicating database risks, dependencies, and recommendations to stakeholders. ## Qualifications **Minimum Qualifications** - **Bachelor’s degree** in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience). - **3+ years** of database administration experience supporting enterprise applications or mission-critical systems. - Strong experience with relational databases such as **Oracle and/or SQL Server**. - Strong expertise in **performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, and troubleshooting**. - Experience with **database security, patching, hardening, and STIG/compliance**. - Experience with **SQL, schema design, data modeling, query optimization, and database migration**. - Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - **Active Secret clearance** or ability to obtain and maintain one. - **U.S. citizenship required**. **Desired Skills** - **Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)** or comparable certification. - Experience supporting database services for the **Appian Platform** (or other Appian-based enterprise applications). - Experience with **Appian data stores** and Appian-related database troubleshooting. - Experience with **MarkLogic, NoSQL, or other non-relational databases**. - Experience with **AWS database services** or cloud-hosted database environments. - Scripting
