The **Domain Search** team builds the foundational search and discovery infrastructure that powers GoDaddy’s domain marketplace—helping millions of entrepreneurs find, evaluate, and manage domain names. The platform connects customer intent with highly relevant, personalized recommendations at global scale. ### Role overview As a **Staff Software Engineer**, you’ll provide technical leadership for the search infrastructure supporting multiple products and teams. You’ll help evolve the platform into an intelligent, personalized search experience that understands customer intent, learns from behavioral signals, and delivers highly relevant domain recommendations. This role blends hands-on engineering with architectural leadership—shaping technical strategy, guiding cross-functional initiatives, mentoring engineers, and influencing the future of search and discovery. ### What you’ll get to do - **Architect and evolve** large-scale search infrastructure for domain discovery, including distributed indexing, retrieval, ranking, and recommendation systems focused on performance, scalability, and reliability - **Build intelligent search experiences** by developing relevance, personalization, and recommendation capabilities using customer intent, behavioral signals, machine learning models, and modern AI technologies - **Lead technical strategy and architecture** across search services, APIs, data platforms, and cloud-native systems, influencing engineering direction across multiple teams and products - **Engineer highly scalable backend services and distributed systems in AWS**, addressing complex challenges such as latency, availability, fault tolerance, observability, and operational efficiency
