Today, many insurance workflows still rely on manual, error-prone processes—fax machines, filing cabinets, and copy-pasting between emails and proprietary portals. Adapt is bringing these workflows into a comprehensive agentic platform. 🚀 **WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN ADAPT** - Opportunity to be a foundational team member to a rapidly-scaling post-PMF startup in a massive, largely untapped industry - Hard backend/automation engineering problems from day 1 (backend is all we do) - Above-market cash and equity - Backed by great investors, including top fintech funds, ex-Plaid folks, and insurance industry insiders 🔍 **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR** Highly autonomous engineers excited about owning the design and implementation of end-to-end workflows for a complex, high-stakes industry. ✅ **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Work closely with the team and early customers to build a world-class agentic platform - Solve hard technical problems from scratch, owning the solution through the entire development lifecycle - Help define the tech stack/architecture for an evolving product (technology agnostic—use the right tool for the job) - Contribute to team culture, plus internal tooling and processes 🛠**ROLE REQUIREMENTS** - 4+ years professional backend/full-stack engineering experience (significant roles on large-scale open-source projects also welcome) - Experience crafting AI products, building processing pipelines, or integrating external systems - Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent - Early-stage startup experience (or similar unstructured, fast-paced environment) - Live in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area to work full-time in our SF office 💫 **NICE TO HAVES** - Experience with web scraping, email scraping, and browser automation (getting data creatively out of hard-to-reach places) - TypeScript/JavaScript experience in a professional or large-scale OSS setting (side projects welcome—send what you’ve built) - Experience integrating with low-tech industries and/or poorly documented, antiquated APIs (or even missing APIs) Not sure you meet 100% of the qualifications? **Please drop us a line anyway**—we’d love to hear from you!
