**Senior Principal Automation Engineer** **About Astera Labs** Astera Labs (NASDAQ: ALAB) provides rack-scale AI infrastructure through purpose-built connectivity solutions, enabling organizations to unlock the full potential of modern AI. **The Role** We seek a visionary Senior Principal Automation Engineer with 20+ years of experience architecting cloud-native infrastructure for semiconductor design workflows. You'll be the technical authority on CI/CD pipelines, cloud HPC infrastructure, and automated performance validation across front-end (RTL, simulation, verification) and back-end (physical design, place-and-route, timing closure) flows. This role extends beyond engineering to business automation (HR, Legal, Finance), contributing to end-to-end employee lifecycle and corporate process automation. **Key Responsibilities** **Cloud HPC & Workflow Optimization** • Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation libraries for large-scale ASIC/SoC development on cloud infrastructure • Optimize semiconductor workflows for engineering efficiency and cloud cost efficiency • Own cloud HPC compute strategy: auto-scaling, job scheduling, and license-aware scheduling • Provision and manage cloud compute clusters using Infrastructure as Code **Data & Insights** • Design a centralized data lake aggregating HPC, CI/CD, license, and design-tool telemetry • Build role-specific insight views for engineers, managers, and executives • Deploy AI-assisted telemetry for regression triage, failure analysis, and cost forecasting **Automation & Tool Integration** • Develop frameworks integrating source control, code review, and CAD/EDA tools • Leverage AI coding platforms (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development **Cross-Functional Automation** • Participate in HR, Legal, and Finance automation initiatives • Support employee lifecycle flows: onboarding, provisioning, transfers, offboarding • Enable Legal workflow automation: NDAs, contracts, IP disclosures, open-source reviews • Support Finance automation: purchase requisitions, spend chargeback, budget reporting • Build compliance and controls: approval gates, audit trails, access reviews, data privacy (SOX, GDPR/CCPA) **Leadership** • Act as principal advisor on cloud infrastructure investment and automation roadmap • Partner across design, verification, IT, data, HR, Legal, and Finance teams **Required Qualifications** • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field • 20+ years progressive technical experience; 10+ years in CAD infrastructure, cloud HPC, or build/release automation • Deep hands-on expertise running HPC/EDA workloads in cloud (AWS preferred) with cost optimization focus • Working knowledge of front-end and back-end semiconductor design flows • Data engineering experience with data lakes (S3, Glue, Athena, Prometheus, Redshift, Snowflake, Spark) • Expert proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) • Advanced skills in Python, Shell/Bash, Tcl, and Linux/Unix administration • Demonstrated expertise using AI coding platforms as core development tools • Track record defining corporate-wide automation visions that improve velocity, cost efficiency, and reliability • Experience with business-process automation (HR, Legal, Finance, IT service management) • Ability to translate non-technical processes into automated flows with audit/compliance requirements **What Strong Candidates Look Like** Deep e
