## Technical Lead — US Based (Remote) **Orchid Software Solutions** is transforming assisted reproduction, healthcare payments, and fintech with software that increases efficiency and transparency in life-changing processes. We’re moving from **“building fast” to “scaling right”** and are hiring a **Technical Lead** to own a core engineering pod. --- ### What you’ll do - **Lead a distributed engineering pod** (Latin America + US): set technical direction, divide/prioritize work, and run mentorship + career-growth practices. - **Earn the team’s trust**: lead with technical credibility and genuine listening. - **Own architecture & delivery** for Next.js applications powering core case/workflow management and integrations with external partner platforms. - **Evolve the SDLC** for a distributed team, including an **agentic AI software development lifecycle** with real guardrails (work specification, review, testing, and shipping when AI generates meaningful code). - **Drive modernization**: migrate legacy **Flask/jQuery** systems into **Next.js/Node/TypeScript** across critical workflows. - **Productize AI**: design and implement **RAG** and AI agent workflows for case intake, submission review, and reconciliation—**governed and auditable by default**. - **Own the data layer**: optimize pipelines and complex **PostgreSQL/MySQL** queries; ensure infrastructure scales with growth. - **Partner with Product**: align engineering execution and technical scope with Product/Project Management and business stakeholders. - **Deliver reliability + pace**: accuracy and turnaround time directly impact client experience. --- ### Tech stack - **Frontend:** Next.js (App Router), React, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript - **Backend/Infra:** Node.js, Python, Go, AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS, RDS) - **AI & Data:** PostgreSQL (PgVector), MySQL, LangChain, advanced LLM integrations --- ### What we’re looking for - **Proven engineering leadership**: you’ve **formally managed** engineers (must-have). - **Distributed leadership experience** across multiple countries/time zones, with a mix of employees and contractors/agency staff. - **7+ years** building and scaling production-grade web applications, with recent hands-on depth. - **Full-stack with backend/infra tilt**: API design, microservices orchestration, database optimization, and modern frontend fluency. - **AI-native mindset**: you use AI tools daily and have strong opinions on review, testing, security, and cost control. - **High-impact communication**: can defend trade-offs to senior leadership and represent the team in high-stakes conversations. - **Startup grit** in a fast-moving ~100-person environment. - **Regulated-domain comfort (plus):** healthcare, fintech, or other compliance-heavy domains. --- ### Essential requirements - **Must be based in the United States** - Ability to maintain overlap with a **distributed team** across Latin America and the US - **Must pass a background check** --- ### Why Orchid - **Real impact** in high-stakes, regulated environments - **Ownership**: authority to make architectural and team decisions - **Remote culture**: autonomy + clear async communication
