**Staff Software Engineer, GTM & AI Strategy** **About the Role** Toast is seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to join the GTM & AI Strategy Engineering team. You'll be a primary builder of 0-to-1 tools designed to revolutionize how sales teams operate—writing code and building intelligence models that eliminate friction across the Go-To-Market stack. **Key Responsibilities** • **Hands-on Execution**: Spend majority of time architecting and coding high-performance backend services and ML pipelines • **0-to-1 Development**: Build and prototype new internal products leveraging LLMs and Agentic AI for account research, lead prioritization, and complex quoting logic • **Infrastructure Integration**: Develop backend connective tissue between custom quoting engine, Salesforce, and internal data lakes • **Technical Problem Solving**: Solve complex synchronization and architectural challenges across the GTM stack • **Product Delivery**: Turn high-level goals into sequenced, production-ready code with broad impact • **Quality & Observability**: Build deep observability into every service shipped **Required Qualifications** • Deep backend expertise (Java, Go, Python) with track record building complex, distributed systems • Practical, hands-on experience building LLM agents in production environments • Ability to implement event-driven architectures and manage data flow across disparate systems • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field **Nice to Have** • Experience building Sales Tech or Fintech tools that impact revenue • Familiarity with AWS data services (SageMaker, Lambda, SQS) • Passion for removing "human-in-the-loop" friction through intelligent automation **Compensation** Zone A: $193,000–$309,000 USD Zone B: $168,000–$269,000 USD Zone C: $151,000–$242,000 USD **Culture & Benefits** Hybrid work model with competitive total rewards including equity and comprehensive benefits.
