## Sr. Software Engineer, Ruby on Rails ### About CentralReach CentralReach provides autism and IDD care software for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), multidisciplinary therapy, and special education—trusted by 200,000+ users. We help therapy providers, educators, and employers scale delivery of ABA and related therapies through innovative technology and strong customer satisfaction. ### Key Accountabilities - Shape technical direction on the **Essentials squad**: contribute to architecture decisions, unblock teammates, and stay hands-on. - Lead by example with clean, maintainable, refactor-friendly code; improve quality through thoughtful code review and pairing. - Design and optimize **back-end systems, APIs, and data flows** with a focus on **performance** and **reliability**. - Build modern, responsive front-end experiences using **React, TypeScript, and CSS**. - Work across relational databases (**Postgres, MySQL, etc.**), writing efficient SQL and shaping data models. - Lead projects end-to-end: balance hands-on delivery with guiding others; surface risks early and communicate trade-offs clearly. - Collaborate cross-functionally with **product, design, and QA** to translate business needs into technical solutions. - Embrace **AI-assisted engineering** (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot): contribute to shared prompts and agentic workflows, and help the team learn what works. - Identify and prototype opportunities to apply **LLMs and automation** to engineering and internal workflows, with appropriate guardrails for healthcare data and regulated billing. ### Desired Skills & Experience - **7–10+ years** of full-stack development experience, with **Ruby on Rails** as a core strength. - **React** experience (**5+ years preferred**). - Experience leading projects end-to-end—from breaking down complex problems to shipping impact. - Strong mentoring experience (pair programming, architectural guidance, helping others grow). - Daily hands-on fluency with AI development tools (e.g., **Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot**) and strong judgment on where AI accelerates work vs. where human review is required. - Interest/experience building with **LLM APIs** (prompt design, evaluation, and safety considerations for sensitive data). - Highly organized with strong attention to detail. - Strong project management skills (planning, estimation, scoping). - Ability to work in a changing environment, connect the dots, and make decisions independently. - Ability to produce quality work under tight timelines while managing multiple projects. - Clear communication (verbal and written) and sound judgment across all levels. - Comfortable working in a distributed, semi-virtual environment. - Ability to create and execute technical direction for yourself and others; capable of taking minimal direction. ### Compensation & Benefits - **Base salary range:** **$120,000–$180,000 USD** - Hybrid work with offices in **Ft.
