Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. ### About the Team The Billing organization builds and operates Stripe Billing, a product that hundreds of thousands of businesses use to collect revenue for recurring and one-time payments across various pricing models—from SaaS subscriptions to multi-stage contracts and churn prevention tools. ### What You'll Do Lead a high-performing engineering team within the Stripe Billing organization, partnering closely with product managers and cross-functional leaders. **Key Responsibilities:** - Partner with engineering leaders, product managers, and designers on strategy and roadmap - Apply first principles thinking to complex problems and system design - Foster a healthy team culture with trust and psychological safety - Define processes enabling the team to excel in a fast-paced environment - Coach and mentor engineers on career development and skill growth - Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives - Work with recruiting to hire strong engineering talent ### Minimum Requirements - 4+ years of engineering management experience - 8+ years of full-time software development experience - Proven track record hiring and leading productive engineering teams - Experience nurturing supportive, challenging, diverse, and inclusive work environments - Strong ability to lead cross-functional organizations and measure product outcomes - Technical expertise solving large-scale, difficult problems - Experience building extensible, scalable software solutions - Ability to thrive with high autonomy and responsibility ### Preferred Qualifications - Strong product and design sense; enjoy elegant solutions to complex problems - Built strong cross-team relationships across organizational boundaries - Experience leading distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones
