**Senior Software Engineer - Autonomy Core Frameworks** **About the Role** Architect and advance foundational frameworks underpinning Torc's autonomous driving stack. As a senior technical leader, you'll collaborate with Behavior and Perception teams to design robust, composable architectural patterns that enable safe, performant, reliable autonomous operation. **What You'll Do** • Lead architecture, design, implementation, and evolution of core frameworks including state management, inter-component communication, abstraction layers, and common utilities • Drive technical direction for real-time C++ architectural components responsible for system-wide data flow, component coordination, error handling, and observability • Establish scalable architectural patterns and abstractions while driving technical tradeoff discussions and long-term design decisions • Collaborate across teams to keep integration boundaries clean and shared abstractions coherent • Lead architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews while establishing engineering standards • Mentor software engineers through technical coaching and architectural guidance • Champion architectural quality through validation, testing strategies, observability frameworks, and production readiness practices • Contribute to root cause analysis of complex platform-level issues and drive improvements • Define and evolve simulation and validation frameworks for rigorous testing across operational scenarios **About Torc** A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc is now part of the Daimler family, focused on developing software for automated trucks.
