**SAP Solutions Engineer (Global Finance Technology — Payment Hub & SAP Systems Portfolio)** **About the role** Liberty Mutual is seeking an **SAP Solutions Engineer** to join **Global Finance Technology**, aligned to the **Payment Hub and SAP systems portfolio**. You’ll translate business priorities into **scalable, secure, maintainable technology solutions** and partner closely with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Architects, Scrum Masters, business stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams. **What you’ll do** - Act as **lead solution engineer / technical lead** for implementation of approved technologies aligned to technical architecture and long-term strategy. - Recommend improvements to **process efficiency and effectiveness**. - Consult on major **architectural designs** to ensure consistency, security, maintainability, and flexibility across system and product architectures. - Participate in **incident management** and provide consultative recommendations for viable resolutions. - Contribute to forecasts of **business and IT trends** to shape technical direction within a portfolio/project. - Guide development of **system/technical/product standards** based on business plans and vision. - Research and recommend **new technologies** in coordination with Architecture. - Prototype complex, cross-platform business solutions to validate newer technologies. - Participate in evaluation and selection of **hardware/software product standards**. - Plan and manage **architecture migrations**. - Maintain collaborative partnerships across customers, vendors, business partners, and IT. - Deliver architectural artifacts, technical alternatives, and designs that meet business and product requirements. - Oversee **design reviews** and frameworks; contribute to decisions impacting profitability and operational effectiveness. - Mentor staff and facilitate cross-team training/knowledge sharing and alignment. **Hybrid work & location** - **Hybrid schedule:** 2 days onsite - Considering candidates based in **Portsmouth, NH** **Work authorization** - Must be **authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future**. - **No visa sponsorship** (including future sponsorship for CPT/OPT/STEMOPT). **Qualifications** - **Bachelor’s or Master’s** degree in a technical or business discipline (or equivalent experience); **Master’s preferred**. - **10+ years** of experience in **SAP systems**. - Experience with **SAP and financial systems** strongly preferred. - Proven experience in **software/solution engineering, architecture, or technical leadership** in complex enterprise environments. - Demonstrated ability to design and guide **scalable, secure, maintainable** solutions across applications, platforms, integrations, and data domains. - Strong understanding of **architecture principles**, integration patterns, data strategy, **cloud-native technologies**, **DevOps**, **CI/CD**, testing automation, and observability/operational readiness. - Experience partnering with **Product, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Security, Compliance, and vendors** in an Agile/Product operating model. - Ability to **influence without direct authority**, facilitate technical decisions, and align teams around standards and delivery priorities. - Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate trade-offs, identify risks, and recommend pragmatic solutions. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including e
