Abby Care combines clinical oversight with an AI-powered platform to train, enable, and support family caregivers, helping health plans and government partners better understand, verify, and improve care in the home. **THE OPPORTUNITY** We’re hiring a **Senior Platform Engineer** to build, own, and extend our cloud foundations. Reporting to the Platform Team Tech Lead, you’ll act as a primary architect for the infrastructure that supports our AI, software, and data products. This role blends traditional platform engineering (faster builds, safer deploys, robust infrastructure) with the systems required to ship and verify **AI-native features** in a **high-compliance healthcare** environment. You’ll have autonomy to shape how a modern engineering organization builds software and act as a force multiplier for the team. **Location / Work Style** Full-Time **Hybrid** — **San Francisco, California** --- ## WHAT YOU’LL DO **Data Pipelines & System of Record** - Own the data foundation: be the point person for pipelines and integrations that ingest, reconcile, and maintain first- and third-party data. - Orchestrate workflows: contribute to our data orchestration layer to ensure ETL pipelines and data workflows are reproducible, traceable, secure, and isolated for multi-tenant environments. - Enhance observability: build and improve observability and monitoring across infrastructure, applications, and data systems. **Cloud Infrastructure & Security** - Own the cloud foundation: operate, evolve, and architect our AWS-based cloud environment—balancing reliability, security, cost, and developer velocity as we scale. - Infrastructure as Code: build and maintain scalable infrastructure using **Terraform**, with robust state management approaches. - Harden environments: lead technical implementation of cloud security and compliance requirements (**HIPAA**), embedding security throughout the SDLC. **Developer Experience & CI/CD** - Accelerate engineering: own build tooling and CI/CD workflows to move code from idea to production with faster builds, more reliable tests, and seamless releases. - Build AI-native tooling: create systems for automated development, bug triage, and validation; design verification environments to test product behavior across agents, workflows, and customer-like scenarios before production. - Turn friction into leverage: partner with product and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and turn them into reusable abstractions and durable platform primitives. --- ## WHAT YOU’LL BRING - **5+ years** of full-time experience in backend, platform, or product infrastructure engineering. - Strong coding abilities with deep expertise in **Python** (used exclusively for backend systems, internal platform tooling, and data orchestration logic). - Deep expertise designing and operating production environments on **AWS** and mastering **Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)**. - **AI-native mindset**: you actively use AI tools, understand how they change software development, and know where they can compress engineering cycles. - **Security-first approach**: experience hardening cloud infrastructure and supporting security compliance initiatives (ideally in healthcare or enterprise SaaS). - **Product taste**: strong instincts for developer experience—
