Since 2013, BitGo has served thousands of institutions and millions of retail investors worldwide. **Location:** Full-time onsite at Toronto office **The Role** Build and evolve the ledger systems behind client balances, trading positions, and financial reporting. Work at the intersection of software engineering and accounting—designing double-entry ledger primitives and ensuring new products are designed with financial correctness from day one. **What You'll Do** • Design and extend core ledger systems (accounts, postings, account-type/ledger structures) • Own chart-of-accounts and reporting surfaces connecting engineering data to financial statements • Work across on-chain and off-chain boundaries: balance verification, reconciliation, proof-of-reserve • Partner with engineering teams early to ensure features correctly model legal entity ownership, pricing, and reconciliation • Design data models that cleanly absorb new financial products without painful migrations **What We're Looking For** • Real working knowledge of accounting fundamentals: double-entry bookkeeping, chart-of-accounts design, financial statements, reconciliation, and audit requirements • 5+ years backend software engineering with track record owning data-model design for correctness-critical systems • Strong instincts for extensible system design • Ability to read and critique technical designs across multiple systems • Strong cross-functional communication skills **Nice to Have** • Crypto/blockchain infrastructure experience • Event-driven or Kafka-based service architecture experience • Prior accounting architecture or financial-systems design-review role **Compensation & Benefits** $200,000–$220,000 USD base salary + equity, annual bonus • 100% company-paid health insurance • Up to 4% 401k match • Paid parental leave and vacation • Free commuter/parking pass • Free lunches, snacks, and equipment *Benefits vary by location.*
