**Engineering Manager, Market Data & Analytics** **About the Role** Lead a team of 5-10 engineers building and scaling Coinbase's real-time market data and analytics platform. Own the technical roadmap for index pricing, market data ingestion/distribution, and funding rate computation—critical systems that power trading, risk, and clearing operations. **What You'll Do** • Own technical roadmap for market data and analytics, aligning with Institutional product goals • Lead and grow 5-10 engineers through coaching, career development, and high technical standards • Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to scope and ship features • Drive data accuracy, reliability, and performance at scale with strict latency/uptime requirements • Shape engineering culture and build a hiring pipeline of exceptional talent **Required Experience** • 8+ years software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems • Proven track record delivering real-time data or financial infrastructure systems with strict accuracy/reliability requirements • Deep technical fluency in systems design, streaming/data pipelines, and backend languages (Java, Kotlin, Go, C++) • Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and retaining senior engineers • Experience translating complex requirements into clear engineering plans with defined milestones • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight **Compensation** $218,900 – $256,500 USD base salary (excludes equity and bonus) **About Coinbase** Remote-first company on a mission to increase economic freedom.
