**Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise AI** **About the Role** Riot's Enterprise Technology organization is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer specializing in AI to design and build AI agent capabilities for an internal enterprise intelligence platform. This is a hands-on, coding-majority role where you'll personally build agents, prompts, tool integrations, and full-stack product surfaces. **Key Responsibilities** • Build and maintain orchestrator + specialist-agent architecture (retrieval, tool use, structured outputs, multi-step reasoning) • Design and implement retrieval and grounding for RAG/semantic search use cases • Integrate agents with internal and external tools/APIs for real actions • Build full-stack application layer, APIs, and UI for search, chat, and workflow experiences • Instrument AI features with observability for quality, latency, token usage, and cost • Iterate on prompts and model choices with sensible fallback behavior • Apply solid engineering fundamentals: source control, code review, testing, CI/CD, and on-call support **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) • 8+ years of professional full-stack software development experience • Practical, end-to-end experience building RAG or agentic systems • Experience designing evaluation approaches for nondeterministic systems • Experience establishing AI observability (quality, safety, reliability, latency, token usage, cost) • Working understanding of AI security and responsible-use risks • Deep hands-on programming in Node, TypeScript, React • Experience with modern frameworks (NextJS, NestJS) • Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs with relational and non-relational databases • Comfortable with cloud infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines • Familiar with software engineering best practices and security considerations **Desired Qualifications** • Deep practical knowledge of RAG, semantic search, embeddings, and reranking models • Experience with agent platforms (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) • Working familiarity with Python and lakehouse/data-catalog concepts • Experience shipping internal AI products from scratch in fast-moving teams **What We Offer** Open paid time off, flexible work schedules, medical/dental/life insurance, parental leave, and 401k with company match.
