With 100,000+ active communities and approximately 130 million daily active unique visitors, Reddit is one of the internet's largest sources of information. **The Role** We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help shape the future of our developer platform. You'll work across backend, platform, and full-stack systems to make it easier for developers to build useful, creative, and delightful apps on Reddit. **What You'll Be Working On** • Making the developer platform easier, faster, and more powerful to build on • Designing and building platform features used by all developers • Leading major technical initiatives from exploration through launch • Building systems and tools that support future developer experiences • Working across backend, infrastructure, client, and full-stack components • Creating a collaborative team with strong ownership **Who You Might Be** • 6+ years of industry experience with platform functionality, developer tools, or app platforms • Experience leading large-scale technical projects from design through delivery • Strong backend or platform engineering experience • Familiarity with C++, Java, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or React • Track record of mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards • Passion for building high-quality software • Entrepreneurial mindset with self-direction and comfort with ambiguity • Excellent communication skills for fully remote work **Bonus Points** • Open-source contributions • Experience building Reddit apps with Devvit platform **Benefits** • Comprehensive healthcare and income replacement programs • 401(k) with employer match • Global benefit programs including professional development support • Family planning and gender-affirming care • Mental health and coaching benefits • Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time off • Generous paid parental leave **Compensation** Base salary range: $217,000 – $303,900 USD (plus equity and potential commission) **Remote Position** | Equal Opportunity Employer
