We're committed to secure digital identity for all. **Role Overview** Join the Reporting & Billing team to build the definitive record of the member experience. You'll own the reporting data model, design customer data delivery mechanisms (APIs, exports, event streams), and architect the automated billing system from the ground up. **Key Responsibilities** • Architect & own the transactions data model for user activity recording and storage • Build customer data delivery through APIs, exports, webhooks, and event streams • Architect and implement metering and billing automation • Own reliability, correctness, and compliance for production-scale systems • Serve as technical anchor and mentor for the team • Champion AI-first engineering practices across the team **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience • 8+ years building high-availability, correctness-critical backend and data systems • Deep expertise with relational databases and SQL • API design and versioning experience (Java, Kotlin, Go, or similar) • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor) • Event-driven architecture experience (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Debezium, etc.) • Usage-based metering and billing system design/operations experience • Strong cross-functional communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** • Salesforce, NetSuite, and Snowflake experience • Customer-facing data delivery platform experience • Platform API lifecycle management (design through deprecation) • Experience automating manual business processes • Identity standards knowledge (NIST 800-63-3, OAuth2, OpenID Connect) • Regulated industry experience (government, healthcare, financial services) • Track record of improving engineering culture **Location & Work Arrangement** McLean, VA | 5 days per week on-site **Compensation** Mountain View, CA range: $222,011 - $258,300 USD (varies by location, experience, and qualifications) Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, parental leave, unlimited PTO, and more.
