## Lithic — Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform Lithic is the modern card issuing and processing platform empowering ambitious financial companies to build the future of payments. Our infrastructure powers card programs for 100+ innovative clients, with developer-friendly APIs, direct network connections, and flawless reconciliation. We’re hiring a **Senior Software Engineer** for the **Product Platform** team, which owns the foundational layer of our API that all other Lithic products build on top. The team’s mission is to make Lithic’s API **reliable, consistent, and a joy to integrate with**—including **API Gateway, Events Platform, API key management & authorization, audit logging, and API norms/versioning strategy**. ### Job Responsibilities - Write reliable, secure, and scalable code for Lithic’s product platform with minimal tech debt - Improve the reliability of systems in the team’s scope and participate in the team on-call rotation - Own projects from planning to launch (e.g., API key management, reliability, audit logging, search), keeping stakeholders informed and aligned - Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within the team ### Qualifications - **4+ years** building production backend systems, ideally including public-facing APIs at scale - Experience in or desire to learn **Rust**; ability to understand systems written in other languages (Python, Java) - Interest and experience leveraging **AI tools** to enhance productivity - Ability to navigate ambiguity, align diverse perspectives, and drive toward practical solutions - Strong API design fundamentals and product thinking (versioning, backward compatibility, schema-driven development, tradeoffs from the customer’s perspective) - Comfort designing systems from scratch and owning the product development process end-to-end - Strong written communication skills; experience working in a remote, async-first team across time zones ### Compensation & Location - Annual US salary range: **$160,000–$200,000 + equity** (range may vary based on experience) - **Remote position**, but candidates must be located in the **United States, Canada, Netherlands, Poland, or Czech Republic** - **No visa sponsorship or assistance** ### Benefits (Full-Time US Employees) - Unlimited PTO - 12-weeks fully paid parental leave - 4-week fully paid sabbatical (earned at your 5-year anniversary) - Work From Anywhere: work from anywhere in the world **4 weeks each year** - 3% cashback on card purchases with your complimentary Privacy.com employee account - Health, vision, and dental insurance; HSA contribution match - 401(k) match - Voluntary Life Insurance and STD/LTD ### Work Location Notes - NYC-based employees work from the SoHo office **three days a week** (Tuesdays and Thursdays are core days; choose a third day) - In-office employees receive commuter benefits and catered lunch every Tuesday and Thursday
