About this role
**Principal Content Engineer - Developer Platform** **Locations:** Austin, TX (Preferred), San Francisco, CA, or New York, NY **About the Role** Developer GTM is seeking a Principal Content Engineer to be the content engine for developer growth at Cloudflare. You'll translate product reality and industry trends into content that developers find, read, build from, and return to. This is a hands-on role combining principal-grade writing, engineering, and systems building. **Key Responsibilities** • Own content architecture for Developer GTM—define content types, editorial standards, and quality across tutorials, blogs, sample apps, and community content • Build systems that scale quality: design pipelines, AI-assisted review, CI checks, and guardrails that catch broken examples and stale content • Write flagship technical content: deep tutorials, reference architectures, and runnable demos for Workers, Workers AI, R2, Durable Objects, Queues, and beyond • Drive developer acquisition and activation by mapping content to the developer journey from discovery through production usage • Build AI-native content tooling and ensure content is discoverable by AI agents and LLMs • Identify emerging developer behaviors and workloads, translating them into narratives that position Cloudflare as the default platform • Establish conventions, templates, and tooling across GTM; mentor and coach teams to maintain quality standards **Required Experience** • 12+ years at the intersection of technical content, developer education, and software engineering • Exceptional technical writing and editing with a strong portfolio • Real engineering depth: design, build, and maintain production tooling with TypeScript/JavaScript proficiency • Experience with version control, CI/CD, testing, and serverless/edge platforms • Content analytics and experimentation experience tied to acquisition/activation outcomes • Information architecture and editorial standards experience for substantial technical content • Understanding of the developer journey and what makes tutorials and narratives convert **Compensation & Benefits** • Bay Area: $230,000 - $317,000 • NYC: $220,000 - $303,000 • Equity participation, comprehensive health/wellness benefits, flexible PTO, and more
