**Software Engineer - Clearance Required** **Overview** LMI is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team and help develop innovative software solutions supporting AI/ML activities for the Army’s AI2C organization. This is a **hybrid** role based in **Pittsburgh, PA**, with an expectation of regular on-site collaboration. You’ll support the **full software development lifecycle**, including **full-stack development** and **DevSecOps** practices. --- **Responsibilities** - Develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack software applications supporting Army AI/ML and analytics initiatives - Build front-end applications using **React**, **JavaScript/TypeScript**, **HTML5**, and **CSS** - Develop back-end applications, **APIs**, services, and business logic using **Python** (e.g., **Django, Flask, FastAPI**) - Design and implement integrations across front-end, back-end, databases, APIs, and AI/ML capabilities - Translate **UI/UX** designs (including **Figma**) into reusable components and intuitive experiences - Work with relational databases and data models (queries, schemas, and data access) - Write clean, reusable, testable code; participate in peer reviews and architecture discussions - Create automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests - Build and maintain **CI/CD pipelines** for automated builds, testing, security checks, and deployments - Containerize applications with **Docker**; deploy/orchestrate with **Kubernetes** (or similar) - Apply **DevSecOps** and secure development practices (code scanning, dependency management, vulnerability remediation, automated security testing) - Deploy and troubleshoot across development, test, staging, and production environments - Collaborate with engineers, data/ML engineers, designers, cybersecurity professionals, and other stakeholders using **Git** and **Agile** - Provide technical leadership and mentorship (architecture, design patterns, deployment approaches, best practices) - Engage with Army managers/representatives to identify needs and build strategic relationships - Identify opportunities to improve architecture, developer experience, automation, security, and delivery processes --- **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** - **Bachelor’s degree** in CS/Software Engineering/Information Systems (or related) **or equivalent experience** - **5+ years** of full-stack development experience, including deployment/operations support - Proficiency in **HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Python** (Django or Flask) - Experience with **relational databases**, **SQL**, data models, and database-backed applications - Demonstrated experience planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining enterprise systems - Familiarity with **Git**, **Agile**, **CI/CD**, and automated deployments - Demonstrated leadership/mentorship and/or client relationship management experience - Experience with containerized development/deployment (**Docker**, **Kubernetes** or similar) - Understanding of **DevSecOps** and secure software development practices - **Active Secret Clearance required** **Preferred Qualifications** - Knowledge of **Microsoft SQL Server** - Experience with **Storybook** - CI/CD tools such as **GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps**, or similar - Kubernetes/container orchestration experience - Hands-on deployment experience across multiple environments/platforms - Experience integrating machine learning and analytical tools - Background suppor
