**VP of Engineering, Product Platform** **About the Role** Squarespace is seeking a VP of Software Engineering to lead the Product Platform organization. You'll own the platform layer that serves internal product teams, spanning identity and access, user accounts, design systems, media, communications, APIs, service frameworks, developer environments, and shared AI capabilities. **Key Responsibilities** • Own multi-year product strategy for platform capabilities (identity, accounts, design systems, communications, media, APIs) • Lead and develop a team of engineering managers across multiple platform domains • Define "platform as a product" in practice: adoption metrics, feedback loops, intake mechanisms, and service expectations • Drive consolidation of fragmented systems while sustaining delivery for dependent teams • Shape external developer experience as a growth surface • Partner with product, design, security, and data leadership on architecture and investment trade-offs • Influence company-level product planning **What We're Looking For** • 15+ years of engineering management experience, including developing technical leaders • Deep platform engineering management experience (internal platforms, developer platforms, or shared services) • Fluency in: identity/auth, design systems, APIs, notifications/communications, or account experiences • Track record of driving consolidation across fragmented systems • Strong technical judgment and executive presence • Experience balancing internal customers, external developers, and end-user impact **Location & Compensation** NYC-based, 3x/week hybrid | Reports to President **Salary Range:** $375,000 - $450,000 USD (base varies by experience and location) **Benefits Include** Comprehensive medical/dental/vision, life/disability insurance, fertility/adoption benefits, 401(k) match, flexible PTO, 12 weeks paid parental leave, education reimbursement, and more. **About Squarespace** Design-driven platform empowering entrepreneurs in 200+ countries. 1,700+ team members headquartered in NYC with offices in Dublin and Aveiro.
