We’re a fast-growing e-commerce company with a strong reputation for being a dominant and reliable force in South Korean commerce—combining startup culture with the resources of a large global public company. **Role Overview** Global Operation Technology (Global Ops Tech) builds the systems that enable Coupang to reliably fulfill customer orders in Fulfillment Centers within hours of order placement. The Global Ops Tech Picking team focuses on building systems that drive the overall process and workflow of Coupang’s fulfillment operations—designing and delivering world-class systems while driving adoption of advanced technologies for innovation and process optimization. **What you will do** - Serve as a technical lead on demanding, cross-functional projects involving **Inventory** and **Promise**. - Independently design quality **architecture and system design** for new **microservices** and **machine learning pipelines**. - Break down complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions. - Apply expert knowledge in **performance**, **scalability**, **enterprise distributed architecture**, and **engineering best practices**. - Mentor others and support career development through advanced technical guidance. - Provide technical influence across multiple teams to improve productivity and effectiveness. **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent). - **8+ years** of software engineering experience, including **Java**. - **8+ years** of experience leading large-scale projects. - Strong understanding of backend scalable software architecture, **distributed systems**, and **message-oriented architecture**. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience with scalable distributed systems and understanding of machine learning algorithms. - Experience in the eCommerce domain, especially supply chain systems around **Inventory** and **Promise**. - Experience with **AWS** (Java is a plus). - Experience with high-scale production systems with **fault tolerance** and **monitoring**. - Experience operationalizing software in large-scale environments with **high availability** requirements. **Pay & Benefits** - Base pay range: **$164,000/year to $282,000/year** (based on factors including market location and experience). - Benefits include: Medical/Dental/Vision/Life & AD&D, FSA/HSA, disability coverage, EAP, 401(k) with match, PTO (18–21 days based on tenure), public holidays, paid parental leave, pre-tax commuter benefits, and free electric car charging. **Recruitment Process** Application Review → Phone Interview → Onsite (or Virtual Onsite) Interview → Offer **Job Requisition ID:** R0076061
