**Lead Security Engineer** **Location:** Seattle, WA (On-site) **Salary:** $176,400 - $264,600 + Bonus --- **About the Role:** Join Ai2's infrastructure team as a security leader responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and resolving our biggest security concerns. You'll work collaboratively across the organization to understand our technical landscape, establish security standards, and directly contribute to securing our systems. **Key Responsibilities:** • Establish and maintain security documentation, policies, standards, and system security plans • Conduct in-depth security assessments across cloud infrastructure, ML pipelines, and application code • Investigate and respond to security incidents with root-cause analysis • Build systems and tooling for compliance, observability, and governance • Partner with research and engineering teams to address security concerns • Define secure-development practices and raise organizational security maturity • Evaluate and secure SaaS platforms and vendor risk assessments • Serve as trusted security advisor to organizational leaders **Required Qualifications:** • Bachelor's Degree + 8-10 years software/infrastructure engineering experience • 5+ years focused on security engineering, application security, or security architecture • Hands-on experience with security/compliance audits and control implementation (e.g., NIST 800-171) • Track record of tackling ambiguous, high-stakes problems independently • Strong ability to advise non-security technical leaders with clear, actionable recommendations **Benefits:** • Medical, dental, vision, and EAP coverage • 401(k), HSA, and FSA plans • $125/month commute/internet + $200/month wellness stipend • 10 sick days, 7 personal days, 20 vacation days, 12 paid holidays • Annual bonuses and long-term incentive plan • Generous paid family leave **About Ai2:** Seattle-based non-profit AI research institute founded by Paul Allen.
