Powered by AI, driven by human innovation. ### Location - **Remote (U.S.)** - Team members within **40 miles of Nextiva’s Scottsdale HQ** (9451 E. Via de Ventura, Scottsdale, AZ 85256) are expected to work **onsite four days per week**. ### Role Overview This is a **people leadership + engineering execution** role for an experienced leader with **deep healthcare industry knowledge**. You will lead a **distributed healthcare engineering team** (approximately **9–10 engineers** across the **United States and India**). You’ll provide people leadership, structure healthcare engineering initiatives, and drive project execution—ensuring the team has the healthcare context needed to make effective decisions. ### Responsibilities - Lead and manage a healthcare engineering team of approximately **9–10 engineers** - Provide people leadership, direction, accountability, and execution support - Manage a **distributed team** across the U.S. and India - **Front-end** the healthcare engineering team and drive project execution - Structure, organize, and manage healthcare technology projects - Apply healthcare domain expertise to engineering planning, decision-making, and execution - Navigate the nuances and complexities of **U.S. healthcare technology** - Incorporate **healthcare data privacy** into how systems and projects are structured - Guide execution involving **healthcare interoperability** requirements - Collaborate with technical teams while maintaining primary accountability for people leadership and delivery - Drive execution for healthcare initiatives connected to external opportunities ### Requirements **Basic Qualifications** - **7–10+ years** of relevant engineering experience, including **engineering people-management** and significant **healthcare domain** experience - Demonstrated experience leading and managing engineering teams (scope comparable to ~10 engineers) - Strong people-management and team leadership capabilities - Demonstrated experience structuring and managing healthcare technology projects - Strong healthcare project execution experience - Experience with **FHIR** and healthcare-system interoperability - Understanding of **healthcare data privacy** considerations and how they influence technology projects - Technical knowledge sufficient to lead engineering teams and participate in technical discussions - Experience operating within **U.S.-centric healthcare** environments - Ability to lead **distributed** engineering teams **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience in healthcare, health insurance, or closely related healthcare technology environments - Experience managing engineering organizations distributed across multiple locations - Experience leading customer- or opportunity-driven healthcare projects - Experience translating healthcare-domain requirements into effective project execution ### AI & Modern Engineering Expectations - Use **AI-assisted tools** appropriately to improve management and engineering workflows where meaningful efficiency is created - Understand how AI and automation are influencing modern product and engineering organizations - Apply sound judgment when evaluating AI-assisted approaches in environme
