**2027 Summer Intern, MS, Software Engineering, Behavior Test** **About the Role:** Waymo's Systems Engineering team is seeking a talented Master's student to help design and validate autonomous vehicle behavior in complex scenarios. You'll work on projects that create real impact, blending software and hardware systems in groundbreaking ways. **What You'll Do:** • Design and implement metrics, test plans, and simulated scenarios for testing autonomous vehicles in off-nominal situations • Create dashboards to monitor, visualize, and analyze fleet-wide autonomous vehicle fault rates • Support Verification and Validation (V&V) of Fault Protection and Remote Assistance behaviors • Build automated pipelines using Python and SQL to update, version, and validate test coverage across safety-critical driving scenarios **What You Have:** • Currently enrolled in an MS program in engineering, computer science, or related technical field • Enthusiasm to understand complex systems and their components • Experience with data analysis/modeling using Python and SQL **We Prefer:** • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology and systems engineering principles • Comfort with ambiguous problems in fast-paced environments **Position Details:** • Hybrid onsite internship • Hourly rate: $70 USD • Eligible for company benefits programs • Rolling applications until filled *Apply to top 3 roles of interest to be considered for multiple positions.*
