**Software Engineer, Native Learning Experiences** **About the Team** Customer Readiness helps customers and partners build practical skills and confidence to use AI and OpenAI products safely and effectively through role- and skill-based learning paths, practical content, and product experiences. **About the Role** We're seeking a full-stack engineer to define and build a new class of learning experiences. This is a 0-1 product engineering role where you'll set technical vision, make foundational decisions, and ship the first versions of experiences that become the default way people learn at work. **Key Responsibilities** • Own vision and execution for OpenAI's native learning offering • Build end-to-end product experiences helping users develop AI skills through real work in ChatGPT • Design core systems: learner state, progress tracking, content integration, experimentation, telemetry, and evaluation • Create reusable components and tools for education and content partners • Partner across Customer Readiness, EDU Engineering, learning science, research, design, data, and content teams • Define learner intent and use product data to evaluate quality, learning transfer, and adoption **Required Qualifications** • Substantial experience building high-quality user-facing products with staff-level technical leadership • Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript, React, backend services, relational databases, instrumentation • Experience in 0-to-1 or fast-moving product environments • Strong user empathy and high bar for product quality, accessibility, reliability, and safety • Ability to collaborate across engineering, research, product, design, data, and operations • Clear written and verbal communication **Nice to Have** • 5+ years professional engineering experience at tech/product-driven companies • Experience with education, edtech, learning, assessment, or training products • Background in AI literacy, workforce learning, or developer education • Experience building AI products, LLM applications, or personalized experiences • Experience translating research into product decisions and measurement **About OpenAI** OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring general-purpose AI benefits all of humanity.
