**Staff Software Engineer - Query Processing (Snowtrail)** **About the Role** Join Snowflake's Snowtrail team to design and build software systems that accelerate engineering velocity and provide quality validation. You'll help realize Snowflake's mission by delivering high-quality software to production, optimized for cost and performance. **What You'll Do** • Design and build large-scale distributed systems infrastructure • Work on query optimization, execution, and compiler design • Ensure teams meet current customer needs while staying ahead of technological trends • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across teams **What We're Looking For** • Experience with SQL and database technologies (design & implementation) • Strong background in query optimization and compiler design • Knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL internals • Proven experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems • Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems • Excellent problem-solving skills and team collaboration abilities • Ability to work on-site in **Bellevue, WA or Menlo Park, CA** **Bonus Experience** • Release Validation Pipelines • Test infrastructure in Production **About Snowflake** A high-growth, cloud-native data platform company empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential.
