**Software Engineer, Backend (Node.js)** **About the Role** Own the Node and TypeScript services that power Plane's integrations, importers, and developer platform. You'll build the systems that connect Plane to Slack, GitHub, and other tools, migrate customer data from Jira and Linear, and provide the API surface for external developers and AI agents. **What You'll Do** • Own integrations connecting Plane to Slack, GitHub, and other work tools • Build importers that safely migrate customer history without data loss • Design queue and worker architecture (retries, idempotency, backpressure) • Build OAuth and developer-facing surfaces for external apps and agents • Collaborate with Django engineers and support external developers • Handle state reconciliation after failures (partial imports, expired tokens, rate limits) **What You'll Bring** • Shipped Node.js and TypeScript to production • Experience with Express, NestJS, or comparable frameworks • Built queue and worker systems with retry and idempotency logic • Integrated with third-party APIs (rate limits, pagination, webhooks, token management) • Comfortable with Postgres (queries, indexing, optimization) **Nice to Haves** • Contributed to Plane or maintained open-source projects • Built importers/migration tools with strict data integrity requirements • Provider-side OAuth or developer platform experience • Built systems where AI agents act on real data with audit trails **Tech Stack** Node.js, TypeScript, Express/NestJS, Python/Django, Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, AWS, Kubernetes, Datadog, Sentry **Why Plane?** Work on real-world problems for Fortune 500 companies and startups.
