The company is backed by top investors with teams in San Francisco, London, and Hyderabad. **The Role** You'll own frontend surfaces across Plane's local-first client: dense views handling tens of thousands of issues, collaborative editors, offline/caching layers, and design system components. Work with designers, product, and backend engineers across time zones in a public repository. **What You'll Do** • Own user-facing surfaces from design through rollout • Extend local-first sync and collaborative editing layers • Optimize dense views with virtualization and memoization • Build offline-first experiences with Service Workers and IndexedDB • Collaborate daily with designers and backend engineers • Debug across browsers, screen sizes, and self-hosted versions **What You'll Bring** • Shipped React and TypeScript to production • Strong understanding of state management (MobX, Redux, Zustand, etc.) • CSS expertise with responsive, themeable interfaces (Tailwind) • Experience with shared component libraries **Nice to Haves** • Performance optimization experience with measurements • Open source contributions or self-hosted deployments • Rich-text editor framework experience (ProseMirror, CodeMirror, Lexical, Tiptap) • Offline-first or CRDT application experience • AI agent interface design experience **Tech Stack** React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, MobX, React Router, ProseMirror, Service Workers, IndexedDB, Electron, Vite, Rolldown **Why Plane?** Real scope serving Fortune 500 companies and startups.
