**Senior Manager, Engineering - Identity & Access Management** **About the Role** Lead ClickUp's Identity & Access Management Platform team - the foundational layer that decides who can see and do what across the product. Own the authorization engine, permission/role models, authentication (SSO, MFA, SCIM, OIDC), sharing primitives, audit logs, and core data models. This is backend-heavy, high-impact work critical to enterprise trust. **Your Mandate** • Deliver an enterprise-grade, extensible, configuration-driven access management platform • Build and grow a high-performing engineering team through hiring, mentorship, and development • Run an AI-native team: structure work for agent routing, eliminate status meetings, operate at scale with a small team • Partner with product, security, GTM, and enterprise customers on access-control requirements **Key Responsibilities** • Lead team growth, hiring, performance management, and career development • Own delivery of authentication, authorization, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, and OAuth/API token management • Set roadmap and priorities in partnership with product and security leadership • Maintain operational excellence: on-call rotation, safe migrations, reliability, security boundaries • Uphold high engineering standards for security-critical systems • Collaborate across backend, frontend, platform, product, design, and infosec **Requirements** • 8+ years SaaS engineering experience; 3+ years managing engineering teams • Hands-on IAM experience: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWTs, MFA/2FA, enterprise SSO, SCIM, RBAC • Proven ability to use AI tools and agentic workflows to streamline team operations • Enterprise SaaS delivery at scale with direct customer engagement • Track record building and scaling high-performing teams • Technical depth for architecture discussions on high-blast-radius systems • Security-conscious mindset; design for correctness, auditability, and blast radius • Daily AI tool fluency **Preferred** • IAM/authorization experience at scale (millions of users, multi-tenant) • Configuration-driven or policy-based access models (RBAC/ABAC), authorization engines, Zero Trust • SCIM provisioning, audit logging, enterprise compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001) • Track record moving products upmarket • Experience introducing AI-native operating models • Managing engineers across backend/frontend or managing other leads
