The API Platform brings our technology to developers worldwide, powering thousands of customers from startups to enterprises and governments. **The Role** We're seeking a strong technical leader to steer the API Platform engineering team through rapid growth. You'll lead a team designing, implementing, and scaling mission-critical APIs that provide customers access to frontier intelligence building blocks. **Key Responsibilities** • Provide technical and team leadership across the rapidly growing API business • Design and operate mission-critical APIs serving customer needs • Drive product reliability, code quality, testing, and maintenance • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and mentorship for a growing team • Collaborate across teams to incorporate frontier capabilities into the API Platform • Track progress toward top-line business goals with engineering and business executives **Required Qualifications** • 8+ years of engineering experience (3+ as an engineering manager) • Proficiency in Python; Go and/or Rust a bonus • Strong understanding of high-traffic API design (versioning, idempotency, authentication, rate limiting, performance tuning) • Experience managing engineering teams (recruiting, growing, retaining talent) • Strong customer empathy and product sense • Excellent organizational skills and ability to guide teams through tradeoffs **Preferred** • Experience with modern AI APIs (latency tuning, streaming, model orchestration) • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to run beyond just engineering
