**Senior Staff Software Engineer, Identity** **About the Team** The Enterprise Identity team builds the identity foundation enabling organizations to adopt and use OpenAI products securely and reliably. The team owns the enterprise identity stack, including SSO, SCIM, tenant architecture, and identity capabilities across the enterprise admin experience and OpenAI's multi-product portfolio. **About the Role** We're seeking a hands-on senior technical leader to own the architecture and evolution of OpenAI's Enterprise Identity systems. You will set the long-term technical vision for the entire stack, establish shared identity primitives across products, and be accountable for foundational enterprise systems. **Key Responsibilities** • Own technical vision and architecture for Enterprise Identity stack (SSO, SCIM, tenant architecture, groups, permissions) • Lead design and evolution of highly available, latency-sensitive identity systems for global enterprise customers • Establish common identity models and primitives across OpenAI's products • Set high security standards by anticipating abuse cases and failure modes • Drive alignment across enterprise product, infrastructure, and security teams • Provide technical leadership to senior engineers and raise organizational quality **Ideal Candidate** • Owned architecture of a broad, business-critical platform at senior-staff level • Set multi-year technical direction and aligned multiple teams around complex decisions • Understand enterprise identity, architecture, and operational needs of large customers • Experience with SSO, SCIM, identity providers, tenant models, permissions, or identity infrastructure • Security-minded, adversarial approach to systems design • Balance deep technical judgment, organizational influence, and hands-on leadership **Location** San Francisco or Mountain View office **About OpenAI** OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring general-purpose AI benefits all of humanity.
