**Staff Software Engineer, Cortex AI Search Infrastructure** **About the Role** Join Snowflake's Cortex team to build the future of AI for enterprise data. You'll architect high-performance retrieval engines and search infrastructure powering flagship products like CoWork, Cortex Code, and Cortex Agents—handling billions of rows of data with millisecond latency at enterprise scale. **Key Responsibilities** • Architect agentic runtimes and orchestration engines for complex workflows • Scale context engineering infrastructure for RAG systems, vector databases, and semantic search • Build automated evaluation engines for golden set simulations and error analysis • Productionize AI workflows into hardened, multi-tenant microservices • Optimize performance and cost through model routing and token optimization **Requirements** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field • 9+ years building distributed systems, high-throughput APIs, or AI/ML backend infrastructure • Deep proficiency in Go or Java (systems) and Python (AI orchestration) • Strong understanding of database internals, distributed state management, and cloud-native architecture • Familiarity with vector indices, agent platforms, and scalable data pipelines **Bonus Experience** • Query optimization and SQL engine internals • Multi-tenant systems for sensitive enterprise data • Large-scale search infrastructure • Subsystem expertise in areas outlined above **Learn More** Visit careers.snowflake.com for salary, benefits, and to apply.
