**Full-Stack Data Scientist, Hardware Reliability (Starlink)** SpaceX is seeking a Full-Stack Data Scientist to join the Starlink Reliability team in Bastrop, TX. You'll build data pipelines, models, and production scoring systems that improve the reliability of Starlink customer hardware (dishes, routers, power supplies, cables). **Key Responsibilities:** • Build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to increase hardware reliability • Design feature, label, and scoring data for reliability models • Train, validate, and iterate failure prediction models for production and field • Deploy and operate models in production with monitoring and versioning • Contribute to critical Starlink software repositories • Build internal analytics tools and APIs for cross-functional teams • Collaborate across engineering, production, quality, and customer experience • Execute independently in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines **Basic Qualifications:** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or STEM discipline • 4+ years professional experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL • Experience building production data pipelines • Experience deploying ML models in production **Preferred Skills:** • Master's degree in relevant STEM field (or PhD with 3+ years experience) • Software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design) • Experience with relational databases and large-scale data processing • ML model deployment, versioning, and monitoring in production • Experience building APIs and internal tools for engineers • Production LLM experience (RAG, tool calling, agentic workflows) • Extracting signal from unstructured data (tickets, chat, images) • Statistical analysis, data visualization, and reliability methods • Additional programming language proficiency (Go, Java, C++, C#) • Strong communication and presentation skills **Additional Requirements:** • On-site position in Bastrop, TX (Austin area) — hybrid/remote not available • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed • Willing to travel up to 10% • ITAR eligible: U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee status required SpaceX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
