**Engineering Manager, Postgres** **About Render** Render is building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. We're trusted by over 7 million developers worldwide and recently raised $100M in Series C funding (total $260M). **The Role** Lead a talented team of engineers building and maintaining the Render Postgres product. You'll blend technical leadership with product thinking, partnering with product managers and designers to create a high-quality, scalable system that hundreds of thousands of developers rely on daily. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead and mentor a team of Postgres engineers through feedback and technical guidance • Drive product initiatives from ideation through launch, balancing speed with reliability • Partner with Product, Design, and Infrastructure teams on technical solutions • Guide system design decisions and architectural tradeoffs • Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement • Break down complex problems into incremental, value-delivering milestones • Ensure strong understanding of developer experience and customer impact **What We're Looking For** • 8+ years as an Engineer shipping products with downstream business impact (ideally with stateful services experience) • 2+ years managing people, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management • Strong technical background in system design and architecture • Product-oriented mindset with ability to translate business goals into engineering roadmaps • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills • Strong sense of ownership for team outcomes and system health **Nice-to-Haves** • Experience with developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or DevTools • Background in highly scalable distributed systems • Track record improving engineering velocity through tooling and processes • Experience with products used directly by developers **Benefits** 4 weeks PTO • 14 weeks paid parental leave • 100% employer-paid medical • 99% employer-paid dental/vision • Monthly wellness stipend • Home office stipend • 401K • Continuous learning support *Not meeting every requirement?
