**Principal Data Platform Architect** **Location:** Menlo Park, CA (Remote) **Department:** Data Engineering - Applied Field Engineer **About the Role:** Join Snowflake's Solution Engineering organization as a Data Engineering Specialist on our Applied Field Engineering team. Provide technical leadership in designing and architecting the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform as a critical component of enterprise data ecosystems. **Key Responsibilities:** • Apply multi-cloud data architecture expertise presenting Snowflake technology to executives and technical teams • Work hands-on with prospects and customers through demos, POCs, and implementation design • Demonstrate value across data ingestion, transformation, and lakehouse workloads • Maintain deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing on continuous improvement • Support sales cycles and help close enterprise business **Required Qualifications:** • 10+ years of architecture and data engineering experience in Enterprise Data • 5+ years in pre-sales (Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, etc.) • Outstanding presentation skills for technical and executive audiences • Hands-on development: SQL, Python, Pandas, Spark, PySpark, Hadoop, Hive • Experience with ETL/ELT tools: Apache NiFi, Matillion, Fivetran, Qlik, Informatica • Streaming technologies: Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, Kinesis • Data lakehouse architecture design: Iceberg, Delta, Parquet • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in CS/Engineering/Mathematics preferred **What We're Looking For:** AI-native thinkers with innate curiosity, low ego, and experimental mindset. Ability to connect customer business problems with Snowflake solutions and confidently handle impromptu technical questions.
