**Staff Security Engineer - Threat Detection** **About the Role** Snowflake is hiring a Staff Security Engineer, Threat Detection for our Security team. This is a fully remote role open to candidates across the United States. You'll enhance Snowflake's Threat Detection Program with AI and automation as core primitives, combining deep security expertise with strong engineering skills to build, maintain, and evolve detections and supporting pipelines. **Key Responsibilities** • Develop and deploy detections using modern engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, detections as code) • Mature threat detection program by analyzing coverage gaps and experimenting with AI/ML approaches • Make data-driven recommendations based on threat models, threat hunts, and telemetry analysis • Design and build automations and AI-driven workflows to strengthen security posture • Build partnerships with stakeholders to deliver detection as a service • Continuously measure and improve detection quality (coverage, precision, recall, false positives, latency) **Required Experience** • 8+ years in security engineering (threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, product/corporate security) • Strong coding ability in Python or Go with track record of building software and automations • Experience handling data programmatically (SQL, Python) with large-scale datasets • Production code experience including unit tests, version control, and CI/CD • Experience with agent-based or agentic workflows (e.g., LangGraph) • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and their security services • Familiarity with SaaS risks (account compromise, data exfiltration, phishing, supply chain attacks) • Risk-based approach with team-oriented, zero-ego mindset **Bonus Skills** • Computer Science degree or equivalent • GenAI/LLM experience in security workflows • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) • Production software/platforms processing high-volume data streams • Global-scale detection deployment experience • Snowflake or cloud data platform experience **Why Join** Join a team focused on AI-driven detection and response at global scale.
