**Director, Product Engineering** **About Braintrust** Agent observability platform helping teams at Notion, Stripe, Box, OpenAI, and Cloudflare trace agents, identify issues, and run evals. **The Role** Lead the product engineering team building Braintrust's core experience. This hands-on leadership role combines technical direction, product excellence, and team growth. **Key Responsibilities** • Build and lead a high-performing product engineering team with a culture of ownership and execution • Elevate Braintrust's UI across interaction design, performance, reliability, and polish • Own technical direction of the product and evolve frontend architecture for sophisticated workflows and scale • Partner closely with Product and Design to understand users and shape the roadmap • Deliver ambitious capabilities: prompt playground, versioning, multiplayer review, large-scale LLM analysis • Lead engineering on frontier AI product challenges **Ideal Candidate** • Proven engineering leader with track record building, managing, and scaling high-performing teams • Exceptional product judgment and UI/UX sensibility • Deep technical expertise in modern web (TypeScript, React, SQL, Next.js) • Builder's mindset—comfortable with strategy and technical decisions • High ownership, bias toward action, thrives in fast-moving environments • Startup or AI experience valued but not required **Benefits** • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Daily lunch, snacks, and beverages • Flexible time off • Competitive salary and equity • Wifi & cellphone stipend **Equal Opportunity Employer**
