**Fraud Intelligence Lead** at Plaid **About the Role** Build and lead a high-leverage team of Fraud Intelligence Analysts responsible for live casework across Protect, IDV, and Payments/ACH. Operate as a player-coach—hiring, coaching, and staying hands-on with investigations and SEV response. **Key Responsibilities** • Set casework quality standards and coach analysts on investigation technique and pattern synthesis • Own coverage allocation across Protect/IDV and Payments/ACH pods; manage matrixed staffing • Lead complex fraud investigations across identities, accounts, devices, and transaction surfaces • Reconstruct attacker sequences and translate findings into product/model improvements • Collaborate with Data Science, ML/AI, and Product teams on labeling, features, and model evaluation • Monitor external fraud trends, adversary techniques, and emerging threat vectors • Report team health, casework trends, and escalate SEVs/incidents to Head of Fraud **Required Qualifications** • 5+ years applied fraud experience (fintech, payments, banking, SaaS, marketplace risk, or security research) • Strong investigator mindset: pattern synthesis, hypothesis testing, signal vs. noise triage • End-to-end investigation experience reconstructing multi-step attack sequences • Post-containment incident response and root cause analysis expertise • Dark/grey-web navigation and external intelligence assessment • Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences • Proficiency: BI tools, anomaly detection, case trackers, SQL, Python **Preferred** Graph/network analysis • Rule engines and signal gating • AI tools for investigations • Fraud research translation to signals/rules **Nice to Have** CFE certification • Consumer identity/payments platform experience • ML model lifecycle exposure • Internal fraud tooling improvements **About Plaid** Plaid powers the tools millions rely on for healthier financial lives, connecting 12,000+ financial institutions across US, Canada, UK, and Europe.
