**Senior Engineering Manager, ML Platform** **Location:** San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA **Type:** Full-time, Hybrid **About the Role** Lead Sift's Machine Learning Platform team ("Potato Radius"), responsible for training pipelines, feature infrastructure, and evaluation systems processing 1 trillion+ events annually across 700+ customers. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead and grow ML platform engineers and data scientists • Own roadmap, execution, and production quality of ML systems • Stay technical: review designs, unblock engineers, guide architecture decisions • Drive customer POVs and technical proof-of-value engagements • Reduce technical debt while maintaining feature velocity • Build and mature evaluation frameworks for model quality • Automate ML lifecycle processes (training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring) • Partner cross-functionally with Data Science, Infrastructure, Product, and Customer Success **What You'll Bring** • 8+ years hands-on engineering; 4+ years managing software/ML/data science teams • Deep technical fluency in ML systems at production scale • Experience managing Data Scientists • Proven track record reducing technical debt in high-traffic systems • Success designing/scaling evaluation frameworks • Track record identifying and automating manual processes • Strong hiring, mentoring, and talent development skills • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent **Tech Stack** GCP, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Databricks, Python **Bonus** Large-scale distributed ML (Spark, Flink, Databricks), fraud/risk domain knowledge, GCP/AWS ML experience, streaming architectures, AI coding assistants **Interview Process** 1.
