**Forward Deployed Engineer, Perplexity Computer** **About the Role** Perplexity is seeking a highly skilled Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with customers and deliver high-impact AI implementations. You'll scope use cases, design workflows, and ship working solutions using Perplexity Computer—a new class of AI system that automates complex enterprise workflows end-to-end. This is a hands-on-keyboard, outcome-owning role at the intersection of engineering, solutions architecture, and technical program management. **What You'll Do** • Embed with strategic customers on time-boxed engagements (1-3 months) • Design and build workflows; prototype, ship, debug, and harden solutions • Own the full customer relationship: manage expectations, run working sessions, de-risk deployments • Create reusable assets: skill templates, connectors, workflows, and reference implementations • Partner with Sales and Customer Success on scoping and expansion **Must-Haves** • 5+ years in customer-embedded technical roles (FDE, solutions engineering, technical consulting) • Proven track record running customer engagements as projects with clear scope and milestones • AI-native: daily use of frontier LLMs, agents, and coding assistants • Executive-credible communication skills • High agency in ambiguity; ability to scope and ship without perfect requirements **Nice-to-Haves** • Prior FDE or applied-AI role at a frontier AI company • Sales Engineering leadership on $1M+ enterprise deals • Solutions Architect experience in strong services teams • Experience deploying agents, RAG systems, or multi-step LLM workflows in regulated environments • Startup or small team background
