**Data Engineer, Monetization Data Platform** **ABOUT THE TEAM** The Monetization Data Platform team builds trusted data and platform foundations powering monetization product development, measurement, and improvement. We integrate product usage, pricing, billing, ads, payments, and financial data to support Product, Engineering, Finance, and GTM teams. **ABOUT THE ROLE** We're seeking a Data Engineer to build the next generation of our monetization data platform. You'll own high-impact systems end-to-end—from product instrumentation and source ingestion through canonical modeling, quality controls, observability, and downstream delivery. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** • Design, build, and operate large streaming and batch data pipelines processing product, financial, and operational data • Develop canonical data models and reusable data products for pricing, billing, ads, payments, revenue, and general ledger domains • Establish strong guarantees for data accuracy, completeness, freshness, lineage, reconciliation, and auditability • Build frameworks and platform capabilities improving developer productivity for monetization products • Partner with cross-functional teams to define data contracts and translate requirements into robust solutions • Lead technical design of complex projects using clear system designs and documentation • Improve observability and operational excellence of critical data workflows **YOU MIGHT THRIVE IF YOU HAVE** • Deep experience building and operating production data platforms or high-scale data pipelines • Proficiency in data pipeline architecture and languages like Python, Java, or Scala • Strong fundamentals in data modeling, architecture, distributed systems, and software engineering • Experience designing systems with rigorous data quality, observability, and governance requirements • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate business problems into technical solutions • Product-oriented mindset with clear communication skills • Strong commitment to correctness, reliability, and engineering excellence **NICE TO HAVE** • Experience with monetization, pricing, billing, ads, payments, or financial data • Familiarity with financial controls, reconciliation, or audit requirements • Experience with lakehouse, data warehouse, workflow orchestration, or streaming technologies • Experience building self-service data platforms or developer tooling *OpenAI is an equal opportunity employer.
