**Member of Technical Staff (Software Engineer, Desktop Apps)** **About the Role** Perplexity AI is seeking experienced Generalist Software Engineers for their Perplexity and Comet application teams. You'll help reshape knowledge work through high-impact desktop and Comet apps. **Key Responsibilities** • Work with product teams to implement novel mobile experiences • Collaborate with design teams on fast, intuitive UI • Leverage Perplexity Computer and Agentic coding tools to accelerate development • Partner with data science and ML teams to instrument, analyze, and improve experiences • Work with infrastructure and QA teams on deployment, testing, release, and monitoring **Requirements** • 4+ years of industry experience • Proven track record shipping high-quality native applications • Architecture experience writing code understandable by both agents and humans • Deep understanding of app performance • Ability to own projects and drive them forward proactively **Tech Stack** Rust, Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript, Chromium, and Perplexity's core AI stack
